We pride ourselves on our customer service. Every job is important to us whether it is a large run of brochures or a small run of business cards. We think the fact that more than half of our work comes from recommendations speaks for itself. Our offices are situated in a classic Georgian building in Temple Square, opposite The Queen’s Head public house. Although customer parking is not available we are in easy walking distance of all the town centre car parks.

Artwork can come from many sources – produced by us, from scanned original pictures or customer supplied. Any artwork that we produce is kept on file should you need it in future.

A typical design starts by taking a brief from you and having an informal chat about what you require. If you have any strong views about the design let us know so we can include them early in the process. It doesn’t matter if all you have is a rough sketch on the back of an envelope – it is our job to turn it into the design you want.

When we have a clear understanding of your needs we will be able to give you an estimate of timescale and costs. Once everything has been agreed we will start to produce the artwork. We will show you a proof at every stage and will only go ahead with the printing once you are happy with the final design.

We are able to scan original photographs or small works of art (provided you hold the copyright) however for larger pieces please contact us for advice.

Although we are happy to accept customer artwork it has to be in a suitable format for a professional printing system, so please contact us as early as possible to check whether your software is able to produce suitable files.

Setting up a large printing press is an involved process which makes litho printing costly for small quantities. Typically we wouldn’t recommend litho printing as a cost-effective option for fewer than 250 sheets of paper.

Where litho has a clear advantage – even for small quantities – is in the range of paper and card stocks available. For example we usually recommend litho printing where a gloss stock or heavy card is required.

For single colour printing in large quantities, such as leaflets or flyers, litho printing can be extremely cost-effective. It is also widely used to print full colour designs and can be used with Pantone inks.

Litho also allows for special printing effects such as varnishes. A wider range of finishes are also available including gloss and matt lamination which provide a professional look and a more durable product.

When printed on compatible stock a litho printed page is safe to run through a laser printer, making this an ideal solution for letterheads and pre-printed forms.

We recommend litho printing for:

With no costly set-up required digital printing is just as practical for one print or hundreds. This also means that digital printing can have a much faster turnaround than litho printing once the artwork is finalised.

Although it shares many similarities with laser printing our digital machines produce a higher quality output and are regularly calibrated to ensure that they are as colour accurate as possible. Digital prints are safe to use in an inkjet printer, however they should not be used in a laser printer – so we don’t recommend this process for letterheads or printable forms.

Because we print directly from a computer we are able to accept a wide range of commonly used file formats. If you are providing your own artwork, please ensure that you provide a hard copy for us to check against the final output.
